The point is so that DNS servers can map your IP address to a domain name (such as http://www.eatmorechicken.com). If your IP address kept changing all the time, nobody would be able to type in http://www.eatmorechicken.com into their browsers and get to your web site.
Think of it this way, why do most people want to have a phone number that stay the same? Or why do people want at least one email address they can give to their friends/family that will stay the same?
It is the same reason why people want to have dedicated ip address in webhosting. They want people to reach them easily without the need to keep telling them your new phone number or new email address. In this case, your new IP address.
You probably would ask using dynamic IP and dynamic DNS services, people can still map the same name like http://www.MyDynDNS.com to my server (with different IP address)?
